The Foundation for Academic Endeavors (FAE) creates opportunities for academic growth for low-income families with an emphasis on building leadership and community partnerships. The FAE Summer Academy is held in Mount Vernon Washington.. The program serves 200 preschool through high school students providing summer literacy, enrichment and STEM instruction in a creative and collaborative manner. FAE hires experienced teachers and college fellows to assist in every classroom.

Zoom Curriculum and Planning Dates:
20 hours of training in June 2021 (Because most teachers are still teaching in June, our meetings will be in the evenings at mutually agreeable times)

Responsibilities and Duties
Reports to the Directors of Foundation for Academic Endeavors (FAE)
Designs and collaborates with classroom teachers on weekly lesson plans in art
Supervise morning and after-school transitions with PE Teacher, Nurse and Counselor
Collaborates with MONA as applicable
Creates art supply lists for classroom activities
Manages supplies for classroom distribution
Assists classroom teachers with art projects
Attends staff meetings
Attend child abuse awareness and prevention education, (certificates are valid for 3 years)
Submit to criminal background check
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree or Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent
Teaching Certificate (or completion of coursework & student teaching)
Bilingual English-Spanish desired
Exhibit competency and experience working in a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, gender/sexuality, and ethnic backgrounds and identities.
Ability to use a personal computer, Microsoft Office products and database programs.
Excellent verbal, listening, writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
